Mission of the Eric Marsh Foundation

Born from loss and built on love, the Eric Marsh Foundation exists to provide immediate and ongoing support to Wildland firefighters and their families—standing beside them with dignity, compassion, and unwavering commitment long after the sirens fade.

We are a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization located in Prescott, Arizona.

History of the Eric Marsh Foundation

The Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters was established in 2014 by Amanda Marsh, widow of Eric Marsh, to honor Eric’s legacy and the Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished in the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013.

Eric Marsh served as Superintendent of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and dedicated more than two decades to wildland firefighting. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Amanda recognized an urgent and unmet need for timely financial assistance, emotional support, and community resources for Wildland firefighters and their families — especially during the critical period following injury, death, or other crisis.

From its home base in Prescott, Arizona, the Eric Marsh Foundation has grown into a national nonprofit providing direct support to Wildland firefighters and their families across the United States.
