Mission

Mission of the Eric Marsh Foundation
The Eric Marsh Foundation is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of America’s wildland firefighters by providing comprehensive support to firefighters and their families in times of need. We deliver vital assistance, emotional support, and mental health services to those affected by line-of-duty deaths, injury, and trauma. Through our work, we ensure that no wildland firefighter or family faces hardship alone by creating a strong network of support that reflects the brotherhood and sisterhood of the fire service. We are a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization located in Prescott, Arizona.
History of the Eric Marsh Foundation
The Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters was established in 2014 by Amanda Marsh, widow of Eric Marsh, to honor Eric’s legacy and the Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished in the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013. Eric Marsh served as the Superintendent of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and dedicated more than two decades to wildland firefighting. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Amanda recognized the urgent need for timely financial assistance, emotional support, and community resources for wildland firefighters and their families—especially in the critical period following injury, death, or other crisis. From its home base in Prescott, Arizona, the Eric Marsh Foundation has grown into a substantial national nonproft serving wildland firefighters and their families across the United States.
